Friday Afternoon Ghost Stories: Episode 3: The Talking Dead

So its been a while since I did one of these! Yet again, im going to try and keep up with this trend every Friday.

This week I started playing The Walking Dead on Steam. Before I say anything else, everyone should go buy this game. I got it on sale for 10 bucks. If you like point and click adventures or zombie related things, this game is right up your alley. Basically you make decisions and it affects the story. Its like an interactive tv show. There isnt much gameplay so anyone can do it.

So this is how this is going to work. I try to take pictures whenever theres a good part or I make a decision so that the pictures paint a story. I usually like to write a paragraph or so, but there is so much content in every episode of this game (theres 5) that Im going to shorten it a bit.

So enjoy!

I dont wanna get racial. But i’m not really surprised.

Leave it to a white man to keep the black man down.

This is your first actual choice. You can choose certain things to say. You dont have a long time to choose, so you must think quick like fox. You are currently headed out of Atlanta to Macon in a patrol car for committing an unknown crime. Your name is Lee.

Suddenly you hit someone walking in the road and lose control! You fly down the embankment and lose consciousness.

Hi def shot of the inside of an eyelid

Officer down!

The officer comes back to life and tries to eat you! Using quick time events, you load a shotgun and blow his head off.

You find a house and look around inside. You hear some plot revealing voicemails on the machine, and then youre attacked! You fend off this zombie and find a little girl named Clementine. You decide to wait until nightfall to leave and find safety.

You meet this super surprised looking black bro and this other guy named Shawn. Theyre headed to Shawns uncles farm.

“And more than this I wish/You could have seen my face/In back seat staring out/Of the window”

Its Hershel! No really thats who it is. He is a very short lived character though. He doctors you up and lets you use his barn.

End of the first day: Sideways 8 hours remain.

You get woke up by some hick named Kenny. Seems like a cool dude.

Kennys son Duck. Yes. Duck.

Its a pretty nice farmhouse.

Zombies attack! Shawn gets killed (you choose between him or Duck) and Hershel kicks you out of his house.

You go to Macon and find an old, seemingly familiar, pharmacy.

Carley. A dead eye reporter who KNOWS WHO YOU ARE.

ITS GLENNNNNN. And some angry bitch.

( ° ͜ʖ ͡°)

You save your young ward clementine from a zombie in the shitter. Good thing. Shes your kid now. YOU MUST DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO SAVE HER.

One of the survivors has heart problems and needs pills from the pharmacy. You and Carley have to save Glenn from the Motor Inn up the road, but you find some useful tools.

While youre there, you meet a young girl who has been bitten. How tragic…

She goes all Kurt Cobain on your asses.

When you get back, you notice a familiar looking zombie across the street. Its your brother. He worked at the pharmacy and he has the keys. You must kill your own brother to save a life. Are you a bad enough dude?

The game is just like an interactive tv show. At the end it shows a  “Next time on” segment, and some of the happenings reflect the choices you made in the previous chapter. Im looking forward to episode 2.
