I know it’s been a few months, but I decided to bring another ghost story to you today. If you’ve never read this column before, basically, I play some type of horror game, and I document my session. I tell you the story using pictures! If you are interested in the last 8 episodes, click the link in the header bar.

This week I delve back into The Forest! As I’ve said before, the developers update this game pretty frequently, with everything from graphical updates and better sounds, to better mechanics and adding tons of items. There was actually a pretty nice update since the last time I posted about The Forest, so I had to restart my save (any item affected by a patch gets deleted if you play old saves). Also, the new site layout makes pictures easier to see without having to expand them. Without further adieu, join me on my adventure this morning!
The Forest was one of the few games I was pretty hyped for last year. I even sold a Vintage Timebreaker on Dota 2 to pay for this game. If you haven’t heard of it, I don’t blame you. Developed by Endnight Games, The Forest is one of, if not THE, best open world survival horror game out on the market right now. Think of Lost (the tv show) where there is only one survivor, and the Others are cannibalistic savages intent on eatin’ your brains. Although currently still in early access alpha, The Forest feels like a pretty fleshed out game, with a fairly complex crafting and building system, and very smart AI.
This week is a short, simple, and sweet game. Shown to me by a friend, this is called “Uncle Who Works For Nintendo”.
It is a text based story that is browser based. With several different endings, and some interesting twists, it’s worth a quick look. Remember to turn the lights out and wear headphones!
So here’s a game I heard nothing about, and bought on impulse because it looked pretty and I needed new PC games to play. Well this certainly was a good choice.
I think its been over a year since I did one of these. Or at least pretty close to it. So, to summarize what the goal is, I play some random spooky game, and then I tell you about it. Previously I’ve done Alan Wake’s first 2 chapters, and also the first chapter of the Walking Dead. For this weeks entry, I chose a game I had actually not heard a single peep about until the day it came out. In fact, I’m curious as to why it wasn’t a little bit more popular or at least more hyped. A lot of people have heard about Amnesia, but not this game. So without further adieu, lets introduce todays guest:
So its been a while since I did one of these! Yet again, im going to try and keep up with this trend every Friday.
Today marks the beginning of a new series I’ll be working on every Friday entitled: Friday Afternoon Ghost Stories. Its going to be a weekly installment of my experiences in assorted survival-horror games. Enjoy!
